An innovative used motorcycle scheme has been introduced at Preston Harley-Davidson and is expected to set new standards for the used motorcycle industry in the UK. The Harley-Davidson® Originals Used Motorcycle Programme has been piloted in conjunction with dealers to ensure that it meets the needs of customers.

The programme is likely to attract new customers to the brand with competitive pricing. A 99-point vehicle check, motorcycle warranty 30-day exchange programme and provenance checking are all standard components of the Harley-Davidson® Originals Used Motorcycle Programme.

Provenance checking provides potential customers with peace of mind by guaranteeing that the motorcycle they are interested in has no outstanding finance or police interest attached to it. The check also highlights whether the vehicle has been subject to a major insurance claim or plate change and verifies that the VIN number matches the registration.

With a large amount of used Harley-Davidson® motorcycles benefiting from low mileage, a vehicle mileage check is also included within the standard checks for customer reassurance.

The 99-point vehicle check ensures that all motorcycles offered for sale under this programme are legal and roadworthy. However, Harley-Davidson offers further guarantees in the form of a 12-month warranty – ensuring that any dealer in the UK will look after customers. The 30-day exchange programme is then in place to cover the unlikely event of a major mechanical failure.
